JENNIFER JO BARCLAY
Hi my name is Jennifer. I have a story to tell that is not so different from many that you can find sitting in the waiting room of any oncology office. The difference is that this is MY STORY.
Picture a normal 15 year old girl, worried about such things as what color of nail polish to wear, what way to fix her hair or what movie to go to on the weekend. Now picture that same girl in the hospital with no hair, no chance of going to the movies, heaving her last several meals out and feeling all alone. Well that statement is my life in 1997. In April of 1997 I was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer called Osteogenicsarcoma. In simple terms I had a tumor in my leg. When I was first diagnosed there were many people who took my family into their hearts and lives. I was blessed with the light of Christ through all the people around me. Through this trial I met many wonderful people that I would have never come in contact with. They have all had a tremendous influence in my life, from the many doctors, nurses, social workers, child life specialists, tutors, teachers, principals, other chemo kids, & families of those other kids to all the wonderful friends and family that I had before this story began.
