In the past two to three weeks we have been looking at images created by pov-ray in a web site called mac.pov.org. This site is amazing not only does it have pov-ray images it also shows quick time imovies that come with a brief explanation and are really creative. They have pov-rays that look so realistic you wont believe they’re pretend.

The drawing that cough my attention the most was “The wet bird” done by Gilles Tran. This scene is so fantastically done and looks so realistic. If I didn't know better I would have thought that someone just took a picture of New York and summited it in the contest. I especially liked how Gilles did the artificial lights (brake lights and street lights) it all worked well with the darkened sunlight. The fog went truly well with the whole scene and not to mention the cars. When you see this scene it seems like you are right in New York. Its incredible how pov-ray can do such unbelievable pictures, scenes and imovies.

Pov-ray is a program that is really interesting and fun to use. You can create really good things it also has genuinely good tools and graphics you can use. It’s exceptional that with just pressing a couple of buttons you can make up a whole new world with all these very exciting new features. When I see what other people have done with their imovies or scenes its astonishing, and when I go back to see my imovie to me it seems like my work is nothing compared to what they’ve done. My imovie took me about three to four weeks to complete so I can just imagine how long it would take these people to finish their final project.

The next time I have the opportunity to compose another imovie I’m going to do a better job, because that’s going to be the second time I make an imovie. I had lots of fun working with pov-ray and I also learned new things that will help B a C k

me in the future.
