Male tigers can get up to 11 feet long, including the tail. Females are usually 8 feet long, including the tail.
Shoulder height is 36-42 inches.
Adult tigers have 30 large teeth. The length of the canine teeth can be betwwen 2.5 to 3 inches(74.5 to 90mm).
Chromosomes are arranged in pairs and there are 19 pairs in a tiger, or 38 chromosomes altogether.
Most male tigers weigh from 400 to 800 pounds. Females weigh from 275 yo 500 pounds.
Tigers live 15 to 20 years of age in the wild.
Tiger are sexually mature at 3 to 4 years of age.
Female tigers usually bear one to five cubs per pregnancy.
Their gestation period is 100 to 112 days.
Eight weeks after birth the cubs will join their mother in hunting. When the cubs are a year and a half old they will have
the ability hunt on their own.
Tigers are solitary creatures. Males and females only come together to mate.
The tigers eat several animals, such as, deer, antelopes, pigs, fish, and various small animals.
Male's territory is up to 200 square miles. Territories change in relation to season because of changing food
abudancy. Tigers live in moderate to dense cover.
