Around the age of 30 Atrus returned from his shadow walk with a new brighter outlook on life. He tried to repair things with Ti'Anna but failed and started trying to socialize outside the family. In his first attempt he took one step inside the Crossroads Inn and his eyes fell upon a beautiful woman with firey red hair, eyes of the softest violet and a smile that could melt the coldest man's heart. He ran out of fear of speaking to this woman, but she never left his thoughts and a few months later he returned to the Inn and found her again. This time he stayed and they became friends, her name was Celes Foxdriec.
In the weeks following they quickly became much more then friends, he found himself completely and totally in love with this woman and she with him. They were soon wed in a quick ceremony to avoid the pomp and circumstance their families would have provided them with. He was truly and deeply happy for the first time in his life and he never wanted that to change.
So in the years following, with the birth of a daughter they named Emma Renee he abdicated his position in Amber as heir to the throan so he could be with his family. To keep himself busy, he accepted a Lordship in Celes's home kingdom of Kindard and life was grand once more, now that there were no lengthy seperations between them.
After the birth of their second child, a son named Aidan Tokala, they moved from Kindard to a cottage in the Enchanted Forest so they could be together and safe from the crisis that has hit Celes's home. They lived a happy life in the forest, close to both their parents homes and enjoying the safety the forest provided. Then one day it all came down around Atrus's ears, after 15 years of marriage, 3 children and an entire life, Celes wanted a divorce. With heavy heart he granted her wishes but is now on a rather self distructive path of drinking and wrecklessness that has his family quite worried.
