| August 11 - (Brainerd,MN) - John's season came to an end in the feature. In heat John started on the outside pole as Dan Severson got by and won heat one. John and Dan Schroeder battled for second for the whole race as Schroeder secured second leaving John in third. Heat 3 - Dan Severson, Dan Schroeder, John Kruchten, Chad Finckbone, Charlie Beens, Al Bauman The feature saw John starting 11th and got by Wayne Wooden but he got by, and so did Charlie Beens. Later in the race Chad Finckbone's car stalled and John was racing and smashed his car into Finckbone ending his season. With a twisted up frame. The front end of the car was completly destroyed. The motor did not suffer any damage. As he put the motor in a few weeks ago. This year may be done but look to seeing the # 99 car on the track next year.
