| Golden Spike Speedway Mathison, Hinnenkamp, Schulte, Shawbarger, & Tschida Take Golden Spike Events By Ben Kruchten August 19 - Craig Tschida continues to dominate Spike Sedans (SAUK RAPIDS,MN) - With three weeks of racing left the drivers on top of the standings in each division tried to pick up wins. First up were the Speedway sedans or pure stocks which can run at NCMS. Craig Tschida of Melrose picking up yet another win of Melrose, followed by Roger Kuehn and Roger Violet taking third. The Short Trackers pulled on to the track next with Pat Schulte of Clear Lake scoring a clean sweep. Dwight Gilyard and Greg Thell rounded out the top three. Another clean sweep was in order in the WISSOTA Street Stocks with another driver of Clearwater picking up the clean sweep. Dale Mathison swept the streets. Jon Yilek of Sauk Rapids finished second and current point leader Scott Paulson of Kimball picked up third. Pete Hinnenkamp of Sauk Centre took a clean sweep in the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds.. Taking second and third were Al Stewart and Daniel Murray. Winning the B Feature was Duane Anderson. | (SAUK RAPIDS,MINNESOTA) - August 19 - It was Scout appreciation Night at the Golden Spike Speedway. The Midwest Modifieds had a new winner, plus it was a night for clean sweeps with one in every class. First up were the Pure Stocks or Sedans. Craig Tschida of Melrose swept that event just like he heas almost all year long. Roger Kvehn of Princeton took second followed by Roger Violet of St.Cloud. Pat Schulte got his night started out quikly first by winning the heat the the feature to sweep the short Trackers. Winning heat two was Kurt Notch and heat three went to Shane Sabraski. Taking second in the feature was Dwight Gilyard who was followed by Greg Thell. Chad Walz of Big Lake took heat one in the WISSOTA Street Stocks.. Sauk Rapid's native Jon Yilek took heat two with Dale Mathison of Clearwater taking heat three and the clean sweep. Jon Yilek took second followed by Scott Paulson of Kimball in third. Andy Simonson of Sartell took heat one in the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds. Heat two went to Pete Hinnenkamp of Sauk Centre who also Swept the feature. The third heat went to Jack Kipka of St.Cloud and heat four going Daniel Murray of Princeton. In the Consy Duane Anderson of St.Cloud took the win. In the feature Pete Hinnenkamp took the win followed by Al Stewart of St.Augusta, the Dan Murray. Trevor Stewart of St.Cloud took fourth with Jim Rymer in fifth. Another Melrose native won the Figure eights with Scott Shawbarger winning the event. |
