My
family and I
escaped
from
Vietnam
in 1989. Four days and
three
long nights
on
the
lonely
ocean, I
came to the refugee
camp in
Indonesia,
called
Galang. I gotta tell
ya, it's boiling over there!
Three years of hardships and limitations I stayed in
Galang. Even with many obstacles
lined up in my ways, I
did
managed to have some
fun and
still carry those good
&
some not so great memories with me wherever I go...
With immeasurable
love and care from the Lord above, I was blessed to
immigrate to Canada.
It
was a
memorable day I'll never forget!
I first landed
to
Weyburn,
Saskatchewan.
With
such
change
from Indonesia to Canada, you
can imagine what it was like for me
when
trying
to adjust to the weather, let alone the
language
barriers,
and among other things.
After
two
unforgettable
years
in
Weyburn,
I
then
moved
to a
beautiful
city
called
Calgary,
Alberta.
No complaining
though,
because I am at last free and I now can look ahead to a brighter future! I
hope!

And finally, may you live long, laugh lots and love much. Remember to stay
positive and keep smiling regardless of what life might bring you...because when
you smile, you'll brighten up the days of many around
you. May God
