The Air Defense Team (A.D.T.) was started in the Fall of 2000 by Bill Cochenour and Brian Ferrell who are in fact the only members of the band.  They had worked together previously in Clique (heavy pop-rock style) and on numerous other projects.  Brian also played guitar in the pop-rock group Catchpenny.  The format of the A.D.T. is a little more subdued compared to Clique or Catchpenny.
The A.D.T. plays a more quiet style of music relying on catchy harmonics and soft piano parts.  When dynamics are important in a song, there may be as many as eleven instruments playing at one time.  Since there are only two members in the A.D.T., it is impossible to play live.  Some of their songs have multiple instruments that have been layered and overdubbed.  Each song starts with one instrument and is built off of that.  We employ a Boss BR-8 for all of our recording because of its compact size and superior recording quality.
Some of our songs utilize violin, and cello.  The cello parts are played by Sarah Morris and Sara Spieth, and the violin parts are played by Cynthia Marcus.  They are music students at The Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore and we thank them for lending their time.
Please feel free to look around at our site, we have posted pictures of recording sessions, and will soon be posting sound files and videos.  The videos will be short movies that have been developed in conjunction with the songs, they will be directed by Brad Heiple.
