Warden David Ponniah meets the Old Thomians of the UAE Chapter
Warden David Ponniah's visit was an immense pleasure and success in the eyes of the old boys as well as himself.

He arrived and was welcomed by Viresh, Ruwan and Iqbal and was taken to the hotel
Burj Al Arab for a tour on his request. He had enjoyed the visit which was ably coordinated by Sujith.

He was hosted for lunch by one of his "old girl friends" a LC'ite and sure enough he did enjoy himself as he was blushing all the way when he mentioned what he had for the desert.

The meeting began with Viresh giving the welcome speech warmly extending our gratitude and thanking the warden for his visit to meet the
"Old Thomians" in Dubai.

With introductions, discussions it finally ended up with a video that Warden Ponniah had prepared with an able classmate of mine Dr. Hans Wijesuriya.

Every Thomian, "Young and Old" were ammazed with Warden Ponniah's speech regarding his ideas and goals that he wants to achieve during his tenure as Warden.

Par Excellance in English Language and Computer Literacy (IT).

Finally, the vote of thanks was offered by none other than Ruwan the same school boy who was cheering Warden Ponniah to a "big match" hundred in 1967 (a year before I was born) a record still unbroken for a fresher.

A token of a "Dhow" was given to the Warden from the old boys of the UAE chapter and this was presented to him by his old school mate Moosbhoy Moshinally whom he had not met for almost 35 years.

The finger buffet gave all
"Old Thomians" present time to go down memory lane sharing memorable experiences in that "school by the sea".

Warden did surprise all of us when he mentioned that the "Winchester" was reduced to only 50 students. This is due to the critical need for the "lavos" to be refurbished.

Further, the Warden mentioned that a new sport has been introduced when the second rows in the rugby team played in a first eleven cricket team. This was a joke for everyone baring one person who considered it so seriously that he could not help but eat everything left behind.

Finally Warden invited all
"Old Thomians" to visit the school when we go back home for our hollidays.
