Geneva, Switzerland: (7 pictures) – Day 13

The Floral Clock -  This is one of the few sights in Geneva other than museums.  It's a clock where everything except for the hands is flowers.  It symbolizes the big Swiss watch and clock industry.

The Water Fountain -  Geneva has the world's tallest water fountain at 460 feet tall.  There was a walkway out to it and I was able to get within 20 feet of the jet, although I got a little bit wet.

Geneva from the top of St. Pierre Cathedral - Consistent with my desire to climb the tallest thing in each city, I went up to the top of the tallest church spire in town and took this picture of rather boring and very expensive Geneva.

Harbor from the top of St. Pierre Cathedral - You can see how tall the water fountain actually is here.  It's not really too attractive and it looks a little tacky, don't you think?

Saint Pierre Cathedral - This is the church spire that I climbed to get the two previous pictures.  The church itself is at least 500 years old.

United Nations European Headquarters -  Since there was nothing else to do in Geneva, I took a long walk to see the United Nations Headquarters.  Yes that is a really big chair monument.  I could stand underneath the missing leg with my hands raised and I couldn't even touch it.

Red Cross World Headquarters -  Near the UN Headquarters was also the Red Cross World Headquarters.  Both were closed when I got there, but I still walked around the outside a little.  It was nothing special actually.

Continue on to Florence, Italy
