I'm Darryl Gabriel Yip!
Aurea started her maternity leave on 15 December.  She intended to do some shopping and run around the city to take pictures of this year's Christmas decorations with her pregnant look.  She started bleeding at 5:00am on 16 December.  This was unusual, as the baby wasn't due for another four weeks!  We rushed to the hospital and she was admitted into ward at 5:22am, very quick, eh!  Luckily Aurea had everything planned and packed, I only needed to pick up the bags and went with her while half asleep.

She had ultra-sound but doctors were uncertain exactly what happened.  Uncle Wilfred arrived early in the morning and advised to have an operation as in his opinion, the baby, although 4 weeks early, was ready.  She was sent into the operation theatre and in around an hour we have little Darryl.

The doctor, Uncle Wilfred, told us after the operation that the bleeding was from the placenta.  It was caused by its low position with the baby's head on top of part of it.  This was why they were uncertain even with ultra-sound because they saw the placenta but the part causing the bleeding was hiden behind baby's head.

Well, that's it.  We have Darryl with us and are very happy parents now.  There is a lot more for us to worry about in the next twenty years or so.  Please wish us luck.

How I got my name ?
Darryl - chosen by papa, means "beloved".  In Cantonese pronunciation, Darryl is closed to "Dai Lo" which means big brother.  This is papa's sense of humor.

Gabriel - chosen by mama, means "devoted to God" or "man of God".  Gabriel is one of the archangels said to stand closest to God.  He is the angel of Joy, Judgment, Mercy, the Holy Spirit, Annunciation, Resurrection, Truth, Vengeance, Death, Revelation, Prayer, Mysteries, Dreams and more.  Papa and mama believe the unexpected arrival of me is a miracle and a blessing
