High Point Series

BACK to Results

Purpose:  To encourage Fleet 68 sailors to participate in sailing events listed on the Fleet 68 Calendar.

Participation should be rewarded no matter how many boats come to race.  There is no minimum number of boats required to show at any race on the calendar to be eligible for High Point Series Scoring.  However, to be counted as participating, boats must start the race.

Eligibility:

·        Both skipper and boat owner must be dues paying members of Fleet #68.

·   Only those races listed on the Fleet 68 Calendar are eligible to be counted towards the High Point score.

·      Boat must be "officially" entered in the race by being listed in the "Official Race Results" for that race.

·      Boat must start the race.  A DNS does not count, but DNF, DSQ, OCS do.

Scoring:  Scoring will be essentially a reverse of the "normal" race scoring system, with the exception that DNS does not count at all; DNF, DSQ, and OCS will be counted as last place, and each race counts as a single event. Scores accumulate for each individual race, not by finishing position in the regatta.  The score will be as follows:  Total number of boats actually starting the race less your final place plus 1 point.

Results:  The Fleet #68 Secretary/Treasurer will post the results at least monthly.  Participants in races must ensure that the fleet Secretary/Treasurer receives race results within 30 days of the race, or they will not be counted.

Trophy:  A perpetual and individual High Point Trophy will be presented to the winner at our annual meeting, to be scheduled around the time of the first NHYC Winter Series race in the Fall.
