Anitha started singing her way into the hearts of people from a very young age. One of her early performances was at age eight, where she gave a full one-hour performance to a mesmerized audience. The illustrious Bombay sisters were part of this audience. She gained more experience and exposure accompanying her teacher for temple performances. Following formal training in Carnatic music for seven years, she started developing her skills on her own.

She did her alma maters proud by winning several prizes in classical and light (Hindi and Tamil) music competitions. While at school, she also dabbled with some soft rock. She sings Hindustani music too. Her interest in music is not restricted to singing alone. She has organized concerts and competitions to provide others opportunities to exhibit their talents.

Anitha met Mux and Rags during her undergrad days at IIT Madras, where they were part of the IIT Music band. Later in time and space, she joined them again to form Thillana. Today, she is a very popular singer specializing in classical based movie songs.
