Apparently Hal Turner has a few problems when folks talk about him, and he doesn't let a pesky little thing like the First Ammendment bother him when he goes after those that do. He is good for threatening folks with lawsuits and shutting down websites that have called him out (well..he has done that to us in particular, but you get the idea).
This time however we figure it would be a good idea to hear from this guy per the latest emailed threat towards our server. The following is Hal Turner's Rouge's Gallery entry (in Italics), his rebuttal (in red), then our rebutal to his rebuttal (in bold). We know Turner is going to try something else to shut us down again, but as you will see if you click here and read an article he wrote on Aug 28, 2000, even Turner knows he doesn't have a leg to stand on.
Harold C. "Hal" Turner ran for the Republican nomination
for Congress this
year in the 13th District in an attempt to unseat incumbent Bob Melendez. He
was also the Campaign Chair for Murray Sabrin when he ran for NJ Governor in
1997. This part is all true.

If Sabrin won his current bid for Senator, he said he wanted to pass the
torch to Turner. Completely false.
COMPLETELY TRUE, ALTHOUGH THE WORD WAS "BATON." THE TAPE
EXISTS, THE DATE IS VERIFIED. IT WAS SAID ON TURNER'S OWN SHORTWAVE/INTERNET SHOW
In 1995 Turner organized a rally at the New Jersey State Capitol to defend
racist talk-show host Bob Grant. Grossly misleading. Yes, I organized
a
rally to defend a radio talk show host against claims he was racist.
However, the statement made above presumes the host was racist and is
thereby worded to smear me as a racist for rallying in support of the man. Incidentally, at the time, the host
was the number one radio talk show host in New York City (at the time.) People do not get to be the number one
talk radio host in America's largest city by being a racist. By being misleading, it is defamatory because it tacitly
attributes
me as racist.
RACISM IS DEFINED AS THE BELIEF IN THE SUPERIORITY OF ONE RACIAL GROUP
OVER ANOTHER. GRANT'S OWN COMMENTS DEFINE HIM AS A RACIST. MANY PROMINENT PEOPLE HAVE CALLED HIM A "RACIST,"
PEOPLE SUCH AS ALAN DERSHOWITZ, REGINALD JACKSON OF THE BLACK MINISTERS COUNCIL, ETC. SEE FAIR'S DOCUMENTATION. GRANT MAY HAVE GOTTEN TO
BE NUMBER ONE WITH HIS RADIO TALENT, BUT HE'S STILL A RACIST. LOUSY ARGUMENT.
Barrett also had a hand in putting this event together . . . . . This
is a
complete lie. Barrett and I have never met and Barrett never had anything
to do with organizing the rally.. . . . .and noted on his webpage that as
they spoke, Turner and another right wing hack named Richard Pezzulo were cheered by the assembled. . . . . This is true.
TRUE - HE IS A RIGHT-WING HACK
. . . . .which included those that waved Barrett's Crosstar battleflags.
This is false. The only flags I saw at the rally were American flags. By
inserting this claim and the foregoing reference to a web site run by Mr.
Barrett, into their site, they are trying to make it appear that I am linked
with a group called "The Nationalists" which I am not. This linkage is an attempt to smear me by associating
me with a group I have no connection to. As such, it is grossly
misleading and defamatory.
ALL INFORMATION OF THIS RALLY COMES FROM THIS STORY ON RICHARD BARRETT'S
WEBPAGE. IF THIS IS UNTRUE THEN IT IS BARRETT WHO IS LIBELOUS, YET IT IS UNCLEAR IF BARRETT HAS
BEEN THREATENED BY TURNER.
Turner also had a radio program where he had openly defended not only racial
profiling but police brutality as well, saying that it is not done enough.
This is an insidious smear tactic; putting a lie next to two truths. It
is true that I had a radio program - It is also true that I commented on
what some call "racial profiling." Racial profiling is a claim that police
routinely pull-over cars operated by minorities simply because they are
black or Hispanic. The claim that racial profiling exists is false and the claim that I support such racial profiling
is also false.
THIS TAPE EXISTS. ON MARCH 19, 1999 TURNER SAID THE FOLLOWING:
"Nowadays a cop pulls over a car and everybody makes
a stink about it and the rest of us have to live in barricaded houses. No thank you. If the FBI Uniform Crime Statistics
point to certain groups committing the majority of crime - as they do - then I say: Use the racial profiling and
if someone gets out of line, crack 'em!"
ALSO, IT HAS BEEN SHOWN AFTER INVESTIGATIONS, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY
FROM THE COMMENTS OF THE STATE POLICE SUPERINTENDENT WHO WAS FIRED FOR THE REMARKS, THAT RACIAL PROFILING EXISTS.
What I said on my radio program is that our Police, through their
years of
experience, have come to know who commits the majority of crimes.
Statistically, according to the US Federal Bureau of Investigation Uniform Crime Report and the US Dept. of Justice
National Crime Victimization Survey, blacks and Hispanics commit the majority of crimes in America. My remarks
on radio indicated that I wanted the Police to do whatever it takes to stop crime, and if that means pulling over those they routinely know commit crimes (blacks and Hispanics)
then I want the police to do that. As you can now see, this
is a far cry from "supporting racial profiling." Hence, their statement is intentionally false, misleading
and defamatory.
WE HAD TO BOLD A SECTION HERE, BECAUSE EVEN IN HIS OWN DEFENSE HE IS SUPPORTING RACIAL PROFILING! "FAR
CRY?" YEAH, SURE.
If Turner won his bid for Congress, it would have been part of an agenda to help the South secede from the Union
again. Absolutely false. This issue was never addresses (sic)
at all - or even mentioned at all - in any aspect of my campaign for the United States House of Representatives.
This is false, misleading and defamatory.
WE SAID THAT THIS WAS MENTIONED ON HIS RADIO PROGRAM, NOT DURING HIS
CAMPAIGN, THERE IS ALSO TAPE AVAILABLE.
"The long-term objective, which troubles independent political observers, is to send enough party members
to Congress to push for a separate Southern nation," he said on his June 25, 1999 radio program.
As above, this is a lie placed next to a truth. In fact, that
statement was
something I read on the air quoting directly from an Associated Press (AP) news story which was in the newspaper
about this new political movement in the southern US. The words were not mine, they were from the newspaper story.
The web site wrongly attributes these words as mine and does so in its effort to continue smearing me. As such,
it is false, misleading and defamatory.
NOT RELEVANT. ACCEPTING THAT HE READ THE WORDS, THOSE WORDS ARE STRAIGHT
NEWS COPY WHICH HE IMMEDIATELY ADDED TO BY SAYING...
"And I would say to all the people in the states that comprise the Old
Confederacy: Save a spot for me! Because, baby, I will fight on your side to destabilize these evil Yankees. And
I wanna live in the New South. The South will rise again and I'll be right there to live with ya." Yes, I said
this. . . .and it was shtick. . . . a joke. . . .but these people are so bent on harming me that they lack any
sense of humor at all. They omit the fact that this was "radio rhetoric" for entertainment purposes and
misleadingly cite the remarks as though I want to break up my own country, which is absurd. This is false, misleading
and
defamatory.
WHAT? A JOKE? "RADIO RHETORIC"? ARGUMENT DOESN'T HOLD WATER
AND FURTHERMORE THIS WAS SAID ON A SHOW THAT REGULARLY TOUTED "THE LOST CAUSE," CITING THE OLD SOUTH.

He has also made calls to other programs as "Hal from North Bergen", and in August 1998 Turner called
into Sean Hannity's WABC show and said that if it weren't for the white man, that blacks "would still be swinging
from the trees in Africa." This is taken out of context. Yes, I telephoned the Sean Hannity Radio
Show on 77 WABC and made a remark - similar - to the one above. But the remark was in the context of people like
Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, C. Vernon Mason and Alton Maddox all of whom are black race-baiters, who thrive on
racial upheaval. These people routinely disparage America, claiming it is a racist nation that hates a represses
blacks. My remark was directed to them, pointing out that if it wasn;t(sic) for America, many of the people claimed
to be "oppressed" would still be in Africa fighting off lions. To portray my remark out of context is
grossly misleading, and defamatory.
AGAIN HE ADMITS HE MADE THE REMARKS AND ALTHOUGH HE SAYS WE TOOK HIM
OUT OF CONTEXT, HE REAFFIRMS THE TONE OF THE STATEMENT THAT WE HAVE VOICED CONCERN OVER. HOW DOES HE EXPECT TO
USE STEREOTYPES TO BUILD AN ARGUEMENT AND NOT BE CALLED ON IT IS BEYOND US.
This comment drew no rebuke from Hannity, himself a racial antagonist who even calls Turner at home and plugs his
campaign, but rather Hannity continued to race-bait with Turner around a number of political issues.
This is False. What THEY call "race-baiting" was merely
a discussion of
political views which they dislike and notice how they do not cite any
remarks; they merely make the charge that I was "race-baiting" and offer no proof. As such, this is false,misleading
and defamatory.
THIS IS REASONABLY BASED ON THEIR OWN ON-AIR, DOCUMENTED OBSESSION
WITH BLACKS, EVIDENCED BY THE REMARK HE MADE ABOUT BLACKS SWINGING FROM TREES. BY THE WAY, WHAT DOES HE CALL RACE-BAITING? AFTER ALL, EARLIER HE CHARGED
PROMINENT BLACK FIGURES WITH THIS.
Turner has also threatened to incite people to "dispense revenge" on Federal Judge Maryanne Trump Barry
and New Jersey NAACP officials and their attorneys after a fire in North Bergen claimed the lives of four people
in 1998. This is an outright lie. These people even went so far
as to make this claim to the United States Marshall Service which investigated and found absolutely no truth to
their claim whatsoever. This fact is verifiable with United States Marshall Glenn Cunningham of the US Marshall
Service for the District of New Jersey in Newark, NJ USA.

Turner charged the NAACP with the deaths because they filed an
anti-discrimination lawsuit against the local fire department. Barry was the judge who presided and imposed a hiring
freeze on the department until the matter was resolved. This is
true. Yes, I wrote a scathing article which was published in local newspapers decrying the NAACP lawsuit and blaming
them and Federal District Judge MaryAnne Trump Barry for four deaths which occurred during a horrific fire in a
senior citizens building here in the town that I reside in. The NAACP is so racist, that they filed a suit demanding
that blacks be hired onto our fire dept. The Federal Judge imposed a hiring freeze which lasted for two or three
years while the lawsuit made its way through the courts. During that freeze, staffing levels of our fire Dept.
dropped to dangerously
low levels, imperiling the safety of me, my family, our home and others in
my community. The freeze is to blame for the deaths of four people in a
fire mentioned above.
NOW HE IS CALLING THE NAACP RACIST, SURE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HIS DEFINITION
OF RACIST IF HE THINKS BOB GRANT IS NOT.
After the fire, Turner, a real estate agent for Coldwell Banker with access
to the names and addresses of virtually everyone who lives in the state, . .
. . . This, like other items is misleading and it is extremely
serious.
Yes, I am a licensed commercial real estate agent for Coldwell Banker. But it is false that this position gives
me access to the names and addresses of everyone in the state. This statement widens their efforts to harm me by
including the name of my employer and attributing to my position a false claim that I have some type of special
access to records, which I do not. Incidentally, now that I know they are attacking my employer, I have contacted
the legal department
within Coldwell Banker and they are prepared to act jointly with me in the
legal action I am contemplating over this. According to Coldwell Banker,
this is an attempt at "tortuous interference in the lawful business of
Coldwell Banker." The legal department has made it clear that they will not stand-idly-by and allow this smear
to affect our 72,000 agents in 3029
offices or endanger our $162 Billion in annual sales and they are ready to proceed immediately with legal action
to protect our good name. Further, I think you should know that Coldwell Banker has offices in Australia where
your servers are located and legal action over this matter can be brought by them- on our behalf - in the Courts
of Australia, thereby speeding up the process dramatically.
COLDWELL BANKER IS NOT BEING ATTACKED, AND THEY MAY NOT EVEN BE AWARE
OF TURNER'S ACTIVITIES. IT IS ALSO QUITE POSSIBLE THAT TURNER IS NOT USING ANY ACCESS FROM HIS POSITION THERE, AS THERE ARE NUMEROUS WAYS TO OBTAIN
SUCH INFORMATION. THE CONCERN ARISES WHEN ONE REALIZES THAT IN HIS POSITION AS A REALTOR YOU CAN INDEED GAIN BETTER
ACCESS THAN USUAL TO ADDRESSES OF PEOPLE IN THE STATE AND OUT. THIS IS A CONCERN OF OURS, AND ALTHOUGH COLDWELL
BANKER SHOULD NOT BE CONSIDERED AN SUPPORTER OF TURNER'S RACIST ACTIVITIES, IT IS OUR HOPE THAT THEY PONDER THE
POSSIBILITY THAT THEIR FACILITIES COULD BE USED BY ONE OF THEIR EMPLOYEES TO BOLSTER THREATS MADE AGAINST PEOPLE.
. . . . . .wrote a letter that appeared on deja.com that said that he was
going to release the names and addresses of Barry, the NAACP officials, and their lawyers to the families of the
fire victims. "It would be interesting to see how those families dispense revenge on those who are really
responsible for the deaths of their loved ones, he wrote." This
is true, but it is placed within the context of false and misleading claims (above) which continue to slander and
defame me and my company.
AND NOW HE ADMITS TO WHAT COULD BE PERCIEVED AS A THREAT.
Turner was only recently called on the threat by the Daily Targum, the
Rutgers University student newspaper, and stood by the letter. This
is also misleading because it categorizes my remarks as a threat, which they were not. As such, it is false, misleading
and defamatory.
NOTE THAT THE MERE MENTIONING OF WHERE HE WORKS IS CONSIDERED ATTACKING
HIS EMPLOYER, BUT HIM RELEASING THE ADDRESSES OF THOSE HE POLITICALLY DISAGREES WITH TO PEOPLE HE ENVISIONS WILL
"DISPENSE REVENGE" ON THEM IS NOT A THREAT? NICE TRY, HAL.
In closing, I trust that I have accurately demonstrated why this free web
page on your server is false, misleading and defamatory. I urge you to
swiftly remove the offending material or face severe legal action both in US and Australian courts.
TURNER DID NOT, WHICH IS WHY THIS WILL GO NO FURTHER THAN A THREAT ON HIS PART. ON OUR PART HOWEVER, WE ARE GOING TO GO AFTER HIM EVEN MORE!
