Tips for this Campaign
Game Results
Here are some things you might want to consider when making your army:

War machines are...nice little decorations in this campaign, and not much else. Your line of sight will be very limited due to the excessive amount of terrain. In fact, shooting in general will suffer a great impact. The only exception are the Wood Elves, who are the undisputed masters of shooting when it comes to lots of terrain.

Speaking of Wood Elves...just imagine the possibilities with all of that forest...

Lore of Life. 'Nough said.

Yehtis are amazing here, due to their ability to march 14 inches and treat all that terrain as open ground.

Dwarven Stone Throwers will not need to see a target to aim at it, one of the few war machines worth taking.

Magic that does not require line of sight.

Scouts and skirmishers are a MUST. You will definately be mage hunting in the forest.

Tip to the Orcs and Goblins players - Fanatics almost aren't worth it. Expect them to die almost instantly hitting terrain.

I do not see most calvary units being effective here. They will have to wander all about the terrain and units in Loose Formation can easily get a flank on them. Remeber this when choosing an army, those of you that have multiple armies (Cough cough David cough)

Warp Lightning Cannons. 'Nough said.

Lizardmen get special abilities when it comes to Encounters and Events. Its kind of like a home field advantage.
This campaign won't start until the summer, so there won't be very many changes to this site until then. Right now I am preparing for it by building my 2000 pt Ogre Army. I really need someone who can make jungle terrain to do so. You can also get jungle terrain from pet stores. We need encounter markers, (read Lustria) and a Zombie tree would be nice.

I will also have a link for each game played, and details of the game will be posted. I MIGHT make an online map for the campaign, so you all can keep track.
The Overview
This summer, GW is trying something new. Instead of an uber inter-national campaign, the focus is mainly on local groups, up to 7 players a campaign. This means your battles actually mean something. The winners from the campaigns will be posted on the official site. There is no time frame for the campaign - we have all summer. We will hold this campaign is Lustria, the land of the Old-Ones. (The book gives options to fight in other lands, but I want to stay true to the general jungle feeling of the campaign, plus it will make Ryan happy.) Your battles will be different than normal. Why? Terrain. Simply put - there will be lots of terrain. Some of the terrain will even have a bite to it (literally). There is even a new phase between the magic and shooting phase, called the Encounter Phase, in which you have a chance of willing the jungle to harm your foe, be it hazardous pits of quicksand or ancient jungle curses. This new phase will be a welcome addition to armies that normally do not use a magic of shooting phase. There is a new type of movement called Loose Formation, in which you can turn a tightly packed regiment into skirmishers, however you get few bonuses and all the penalties that come with skirmishers. For instance, enemies shooting at them do not get -1, and you get no rank bonus. However, this is a very fast way to navigate the jungle undergrowth.
The Prize
I need your help on this one. I was thinking the winner would bring back an artifact and be able to use in regular games between us. LMK your ideas.
