Well, years ago, when I was just a kid of 7 or 8, we were at the zoo. I wanted to go see something and was getting all upset and whining because our dad was trying to decide where we should go next. All of a sudden he looked at me and he said, "Don't move."  I have no idea if I said anything, but he told me that I had a shadow of a tiger on me. Sure enough, when I turned my head, I could see the black form of a tiger against the sunlight from where he stood in his cage. My dad said something about how rare and special it was to stand in the shadow of a tiger, and that it meant that I would do good things or that good would come to me. I have felt a spiritual link to tigers ever since.

More about Who I Is

I work with High School students as a paraeducator, and in my free time I write poetry, short stories, and fantasy novels. I enjoy collecting anything to do with tigers, and consider gardening a form of therapy. We are all active in Boy Scouts, music, and outdoor recreation. I write poetry and short stories, and can bake a mean pizza. My favorite reads are fantasy, anything by Pearl S. Buck, and science fiction. My favorite concerts were The Who, Pearl Jam, Earth Wind and Fire, and Steely Dan. Favorite concerts I did not get to see: Sting, Stevie Nicks, and Steely Dan's return to the Gorge. Favorite movies are Dogma, Rear Window, Mother, and The Lord of The Rings series. Lillies of the Field would be up there, too.

Someone I spoke with recently mentioned that they wished they had good memories of their childhood. I decided I would do my best at creating little 'memories' that people like her can imagine and experience in thought. You can find these on the 'Vist the...' pages.
