Peer Pressure
By:Brittany Kroeger

Peer pressure has become a huge problem in high schools, and everywhere else in the country. For many students it has become a pain in the you-know-where. It’s obvious some students just aren’t into drugs or alcohol. The problem is that once that becomes clear, working on the image they send out to schoolmates. Especially the freshman, who also happen to be targets a lot of the time. Lets face it, people hate to be humiliated. That’s how peer pressure operates.

What to do when you begin to feel peer pressure:

1) Politely decline (say something like “ I can’t. I have to be home or my parents will kill me”)

2) If the pressure begins to build, try to avoid those who are bothering you.

3) If the situation escalates, talk to a friend, parent, teacher, or counselor.

Think about the consequences of giving into peer pressure, and remember how much easier it is to just the fact creates a field day for those who do interact in those activities. Teenagers spend too much time say no!!
