Situation: A guy (Jake) and a girl (Darian) have been best friends for years. Jake just recently found out that his girlfriend (Amber) has been cheating on him for about three months. Darian is about to tell him that she knew but didn't tell him.
Jake: (sitting on bed with the phone beside him and the receiver to his ear, dials Darians number, the phone rings a few times and then Darian picks up and says hello) Darian! I am soooooooo glad you're home.
Darian: What's wrong Jake? You sound pretty upset.
Jake: Upset is not the word for it. Guess what I just found out. That stupid bitch has been cheating on me! And guess who with. No, never mind. You don't want to know who with. Can you believe the nerve of that girl? I mean, I treated her like a queen. I gave her everything. I just can't understand. I am so mad I can't even think straight. I can't believe she lied to me. I'm just glad I can count on you to be there for me and be completely honest with me. I don't know what I'd do without you.
Darian: (Sighs) Jake this may not be the time to tell you this but..... (Jake cuts her off)
Jake: I mean, I didn't see this coming at all and I know you didn't either because you would have told me right..... (Darian is silent)....You didn't know did you? Darian tell me you didn't know.
Darian: Jake.... I wanted to tell you but I was afraid that you'd hate me and accuse me of lying and defend her and I just didn't want to lose you.
Jake: So, you knew and you didn't tell me? You lied to me? My supposed best friend since birth lied to me.
Darian: Jake..... (Jake cuts her off)
Jake: No! I don't want to hear your excuses. I trusted you. I believed in you and you betrayed me. As far as I'm concerned this friendship is over.
Darian: Jake no! Just listen to me - I can explain. (starts to cry)
Jake: No, it's to late. How do I know that your explanation wouldn't just be another lie? It's over Darian. Over!
