The Clans

The Siabra comprise seven distinct clans -- Dergan, Eriu, Gurite, Moheran, Sheevra, Siabra and Siog -- separated by culture and geography, but all ostensibly bound by the rule of Queen Cliodna in the Bog of Cullen. In fact we are a fractious lot, and rivalries between the clans can run high. Only by playing up the theme of a grand invasion, and seeing that each clan has its own part to play in that invasion, has Cliodna managed to keep control of such a divisive force.

The bold Dergans, named for the region in which they dwell, are the most familiar of our kind, residing in towns and groves a mere stone's throw from cities such as Mag Mell and Tir na mBeo. They seek to recover the artefacts that the fool Fagan lost so many years ago; it was they who originally claimed guardianship of those magic items.

The agrarian Eriu, farmers, hunters and fishers of the Shannon Estuary, guard the strategic routes that lead from Connla to Innis Carthaig. It is their duty to keep the supply lines open, and to pass communications from the Bog of Cullen to the rest of the Siabra.

The reticent Moherans, dwellers of the Cliffs of Moher, are manipulators of strange forces. They reveal little of their ways to strangers, even those of Siabra blood. It is spoken in hushed whispers that when the time comes to stage our invasion of Hibernia, the Moherans will arise and unleash a great and powerful darkness to fight at our side. The Gurites are the wardens of distant and swampy Lough Gur. Their presence helps protect the seat of Siabran power by guarding the areas leading to the Bog of Cullen.

The hearty Sheevra of the Silvermine Mountains are industrious miners and masters of the Coruscating Mines; they seek naturally occurring veins of truesilver, the material that was used to forge the mythical Silver Hand of Nuada.

The Siog dwell mostly to the East, in and around the Valley of Bri Leith. They are wanderers and explorers, and have established camps as far away as the Hibernian frontier.

The reclusive clan known simply as Siabra, who live in the Bog of Cullen, are the rulers of all Siabra kind. The Queen we pay homage to hails from the Siabra clan; all of the Siabra clan are descended of royal blood. Her power is due in no small part to the control her clan has extended over the town of Alain Binn.
