THE SHOP IS OPENED!

Mark, Steve, and the rest of the crew are all smiles as the "ribbon" is cut!

PRAISE THE LORD!  HE IS GOOD!

=>.The Shop is officially OPEN FOR BUSINESS!  We praise the Lord for our Grand Opening on Tuesday January 27, 2004!  The photo you see above is from the "ribbon cutting" that officially opened The Shop!

=>. If that doesn't look like the way most ribbons are cut, it's because it's not!  That's no ordinary ribbon!  It's a strip of steel that symbolizes the material we most often work with at The Shop!

=>. The cutting of the steel also has a deeper symbolism:  In the same way that a torch cuts through steel, we pray that, through the power of the Holy Spirit, the youth who come through the Shop will be "cut to the heart" and accept Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord!

THANK YOU, AND THANK YOU, AND...

=>. We thank and praise the Lord for the marvellous turnout to our Grand Opening.  In all, fifty-five people turned up!  They included the Mayor, one of Newmarket's town councillors, and--even more gratifying to us--many people from our church families!

=>.  To each and every one of you who came out to support us on our special day, a most heartfelt thank you from all of us!

WE'RE FAMOUS!

=>. To top it off, we're in the news!  The Shop is featured in the February 1, 2004 Sunday edition of Newmarket's local newspaper, the Era-Banner!  We're confident that this article will spark some real interest in the broader community!
