Dec 19th, 2006 - Funny thing happened on our way to not playing last night

So last night was the rockin' for dollar$ open mic at reflections. So, as usual, we got together at our jamspace once everyone was finished at work. We'd managed to get a very late spot at R4$, the last availible, and upon hearing how late it would Bill and Jay announced that they worked early the next day and could not attend. We usually don't win very much anyhow and there's no sense in playing if someone's not up to it.

However, we had the spot reserved, so Isaaq, Tim and I decided we would go and play anyway. So we played "Gagged & Bound" and "Dollarstore (Hard-Boiled Owl)" with only Drums, Bass and Vocals to a sizable crowd under our annual pseudonym "The Ouija Board Quartet"

Two bands and two pitchers of beer later it was time to spin the wheel. Isaaq spun for us and to everyone's astonishment it slowed down just in time to catch the last peg for the big cash prize of 800$! Also won that night, a t-shirt, some Area52 jamspace time and a red herring. There was the usual wash of disappointed faces on other musicians' faces, and boy did it ever feel good to be looking out onto them instead. What wasn't totally expected was the wave of congratulations and defense against certain criticism that was written by others on HalifaxLocals today. So, thanks to Craig and everyone who's been so supportive over the years. Cheers,

Nov.19 2006 - Lots of news

It's been a long long time since I've updated this page, I've been focusing most of my net time on the myspace page. but I've added a bunch of new stuff:

- There's a new video page with clips of us playing around Halifax. soon I'll have more whole songs up

- The lyrics are up for the two newest TSFA songs, All My Idols Are Dead and Dollar Store

- New Pictures

- and a bunch more links to cool Halifax bands we want you to check out

I've updated most of the other pages too, so there's tons of new stuff to keep you busy. In TSFA news, We will be playing a show on Nov.24 2006 with Trevor Murphy and Big City Parking Lot and The Fantods at The North End Pub. It's $5 to get in. We're looking forward to playing with TM&BCPL for the first time, and our friends the Fantods for the second time this month.

TSFA will be featured on a new Halifax compilation by the creators of "The CD". Like the last instalment, this one will have tons of great local rock music. We will be heading into the studio on Monday Nov.20 2006 to begin recording two new songs for the compilation. We will post one on our Myspace page as soon as it's ready.
