The Day After
How do you recover from a not so good diet day?

Face up. Record your decadent dietary wanderings in your food journal even though it may be painful to relive. Also, be realistic and make an accurate record. Maybe you didn't do so bad after all.

Recommit yourself. Try on those "not so loose" pants and remember why you are trying to loose weight. Ask your self, what triggered my diversion? And be prepared for the next time. Whatever you do, stay away from the scale.

Get Physical. Wake your body up and get some exercise. You will feel 100% better physically and mentally.

Accomplish something. Do other things in your life that make you feel good about yourself? Clean house, pay bills, organize, read, or do something that you've been avoiding.

Even though your brain may want more, don't eat more of whatever you ate the day before. Avoid restaurants and prepare your meals at home. Eat light and healthy, and drink plenty of water. Go grocery shopping and restock your kitchen with all of the right stuff. Pack a healthy lunch for the next day at the office.

Stop obsessing. Don't agonize over your brief departure from the diet track. Its just food. Don't let food control your state of mind, your life or your self-esteem.
