The Rock Ape

New! Samples from my newest Jazz CD!

Welcome to the Rock Ape!  This is your site for joining the home-recording revolution!
... and promoting my music ;-)

Don't let the big record companies monopolize the world with only their sounds! Personal recording technology is now prolific and inexpensive enough for you to create and record your own music even if you are not a professional musician! I have already recorded several CDs and am currently working on the next. It has been the most enriching and fulfilling experience! How did I start?

For years I had been slowly learning guitar on my own. Though I had progressed, it was my purchase of a portable multi-track digital recorder that that allowed my guitar playing to kick into overdrive !   I bought it as a tool to save guitar phrases so my work on them could span across practice sessions. But soon I found I could record backing tracks and practice solos against them. Next came recording complete songs. I was amazed at my progress and how much fun I was having doing it!

These a just a few samples of what I've recorded. You can do it too! Browse through this site and try it yourself!

Keep checking back as my site grows.
