Parade on President Street in Gowanus

Like many Americans, I can trace my family through Brooklyn. Brooklyn has been the natural stopover for immigrants though the port of New York since almost the birth of the nation. While some members of my family immediately moved on, many stayed and their lives became interwoven with the rich fabric that is Brooklyn.

This web site is an effort to share the fruits of my genealogy research  and place the individuals within the times and the places that they lived. While Brooklyn is the common thread that connects the varied ethnic groups in my family, this site centers around the individuals rather than the place.

Enjoy!
