For as long as I can remember, I have been interested in roads. This is quite possibly because my family has always kept Franklin County maps in that little pouch in the back of the front car seats. There is one section of the map that is visible without unfolding the map, and I had that memorized. Then, I learned how to unfold the map, and now I have nearly every major road in western Columbus memorized. Early on, however, I developed a specific interest in freeways and their design. In fact, I even design freeway interchanges as a hobby.
