Pay Less for Internet In Trinidad and Tobago

  The PL4N

The People at PayLess4Net are Secondary School Students, based in south Trinidad, and spearheaded by students at Presentation College, San Fernando. Realizing the high costs of internet in Trinidad and Tobago, coupled with the sub-par service, we knew that someone had to make a stand, and we would be the ones to do it.

The plan is to have TSTT reduce the costs of their internet services from what they are currently ($345 for single user unlimited, $230 for 100 hours, $143.75 for 50 hours and $79.35 for 20 hrs, each on a monthly billing system) to $250 for Unlimited, then $175 for 100 hours. 50 hrs for $100 and 20 hrs for $50 dollars a month. All prices vat inclusive.

Presently the stats look like this

Rate Package Cost of Package Cost Per Hr.
Unlimited
100 Hrs
50 Hrs
20 Hrs
$345
$230
$143.75
$79.35
Not Applicable
$2.30
$2.88
$3.97

Under our proposal, the prices would look like

Rate Package Cost of Package Cost Per Hr.
Unlimited
100 Hrs
50 Hrs
20 Hrs
$250
$175
$100
$50
Not Applicable
$1.75
$2.00
$2.50

Now, here's the idea behind it all, the old saying "Small Profits, quick returns" comes to mind. By reducing the prices, more people would afford to subscribe to the internet service, and present subscribers would be able to afford a better package, as a matter of fact, if TSTT reduced their prices to these today, I give my word that I would upgrade my service.

Everyone wants a car of exceptional quality, like a Volvo, Mercedes, or Audi, but most of us simply can't afford one, so instead, you settle for a Nissan, which may be a good car in its own right, but definitely is not a Mercedes. If you come across a Mercedes-Benz in the classifieds for $50,000 and you can get a Nissan for $20,000, it is likely that due to the lucrative pricing of the Mercedes,  you'd try to find the extra coin for the quality car.

If TSTT were to do this to their prices, their overall number of customers would definitely increase and probably their overall earnings. The people who presently have 100 hours at $230 would pay $20 extra for unlimited, the people with 50 hours (like myself) would pay $31.25 more to get 100 hours, and it goes all the way down to those who don't have internet and can now manage to shell out $50 a month to provide the service to their family.

It's that simple, and people may actually like TSTT again.
