Theory on the book 5 Deluxe Addition: Below
is the Deluxe Addition of the American version of book 5, the cover
art was illustrated by Mary GrandPre (the only illustrtator to have
read the book before hand). "He was riding on the back of an eagle owl, soaring through the clear blue sky towards an old, ivy covered house set high on a hillside. Lower and lower they flew, the wind blowing pleasantly in Harry's face, untill they reached a dark and broken window in the upper story of the house, and entered. Now they were flying along a gloomy passageway, to a room at the very end ... through the door they went, into a dark room whose windows were boarded-up..." Notice the highlighted words - the ivy and window have been circled in the picture below; the window is to the right of the tree and you will see a large wing accross the cover (the rest of the creature is cut off), could this be the 'eagle owl' Harry was flying on? I have also circled a small square/plaque which says '57' And there's another creature circled in orange which I can't make out, if you have an idea what either of these mean, please email me. Also you'll notice that there is a figure (which I've circled in the top left hand corner, could this be the same figure as the one in an advert for book 5? Have anything to add? Email me. |
