Yep, it was the Chinese Film Festival all right, there were misplaced funeral decorations, bad hairdos from the 20's and pretty Chinese actresses who can't speak a word of English.

The Sydney Asia Pacific Film Festival
The festival was well atttended, with over 3000 people squeezing into Chinatown's Reading cinemas.
