IntroductionThe
origin of knowledge exists in human quest to understand the secret of Nature and
it’s functioning. We today live
in a scientific world, which has helped us conquer matter and use it at our
will. The developments in the field of Quantum Mechanics, Information Technology
and Bio- technology have mesmerized common man.
Very
few people realize the fact that science has lost its base and it is
standing on broken deteriorated base, which any time can collapse. The
foundation of science has gone through drastic contradicting evolution and by
fate has ended back at the beginning point without having any answers to the
fundamental questions which nature poses to mankind. Let
me put the development very briefly to you. Science began its existence by
separating mind from the matter. It started studying matter by breaking it into
pieces. It believed that by finding the fundamental building blocks of nature it
could explain the very existence of nature. In other words it set out to conquer
matter and they’re by nature. This led to the Mechanistic-View of nature
heralded by Newton. The quantification of gravity is viewed as the greatest
milestone in scientific revolution. However, the developments in the field of
electro-mechanics necessitated certain changes in the view of nature. Einstein
entered the picture here by introducing the relativistic vision of nature.
Subsequent developments in science showed that nature is unpredictable. The
developments in quantum mechanics and its implication meant that the matter,
mind and consciousness are inseparably linked. But scientists have failed to
comprehend how they are linked.
The
picture of biological systems evolved parallel with the development in physical
science and its influence. Mechanistic world-view is the basis of much of the
picture we have built about life. The two great developments here are the
Darwin’s Theory of Evolution, and Mendel’s work on Genetic Inheritance. Discovery of DNA, genes and the theory of One Gene one
Enzyme, are other great landmarks in biological science. Like the physical laws,
which diverged into two apparently contradicting paths- Macro and Micro,
biological world too bifurcated into two distinct contradicting paths.
Darwin’s theory speaks of external influences modifying the internal aspects.
Mendel’s work and consequent developments speaks of internal information as
the ultimate factors determining the life. In
the light of changes in the physical vision of nature, the very picture of
biological system has become a question mark. Many people come to view life as a
dynamic system. But they fail to explain how this dynamic system works. Thus
like the physicist who have failed to develop a picture of the world, the
biologists are at loss to explain life. Every
development that science makes has been breaking the old notion. This is true
regarding the greatest project of mankind- the Human Genome Project.
Unexpectedly the scientist has ended up with fever number of genes than they
estimated. Their finding that human genome and mice has nearly the same number
of genes, has thrown One Gene one Enzyme hypothesis out of the shelf totally.
Darwin’s work now rightly calls for reviewing. Thus,
both physicist and biologist are loosing their ground. The physicists think that
Unification Theory would help them come out of the fix in which they are trapped.
This Theory is expected to explain the oneness of nature. Search for such a
theory has not yielded any result. The biologists are now faced with the goal of
explaining evolution and development of multiple traits from the quantum genetic
picture they hold. The stage now is set for great
transition in human understanding about nature. The increased intensity and
number of natural calamities such as earthquakes, floods, forest fires, etc. that
is striking the world will ultimately force humankind to stop the mad chase and
evaluate their actions. There
is a revived interest in the age old Philosophies of the east. This is because
these philosophies were built on sense experiences involving the mind. The investigator here never isolates his mind and consciousness from the
study of nature but, orients towards knowing his [Mind, Consciousness and the
material body] relationship with the external nature. In other words, he
searches his identity and relationship with nature. This is
exactly what the scientists are also searching for, that is the relationship
[oneness] of micro and macro systems. The
age-old philosophers understood the secret of nature and wrote it elaborately in
Vedas, Bible, I-Ching and such religious books. The present generation has
failed to comprehend its depth because their minds are conditioned by science.
It is impossible for a mind, which is conditioned by science to ever comprehend
the simple secret of nature. Einstein,
more than any body else, understood the situation in which science got caught
itself hopelessly. He clearly stated that science has to be restructured onto a
new base. Towards his end, he relentlessly struggled to build a new base to
science and bring forth the Unification Theory. In
the process, he once introduced a concept called Anti- gravity, but for some
reason best known to him, he retreated from it. In his autobiography, he even
suggested that there is limit to science to explain nature. At one point, he
said that constants of physical equations should be replaced by ratios.
They probably were budding thoughts, which unfortunately withered. There
are two broad lines of thinking, which has emerged as far as the Unification
Theory is concerned 1]
Many intellectuals have come to view our universe as living one capable of
evolving and surviving. Here the work of Prof. James Lovelock and Marguilis Lynn
is outstanding. I fall into this
line. The development in quantum mechanics clearly states that life cannot be
separated from our understanding of nature. Decades back when I started to
communicate with nature, the first thing that struck me was that our earth, the
solar system and the whole universe is not simply a system made of matter and
guided by interaction of gravitational force, but it is a living and evolving
one where life and mankind takes some pivotal role. The skeletal framework of
interaction of life and matter was revealed to me in no time. I
did approach the so-called temples of science to discuss these budding thoughts
and associated technological possibilities, but none responded. Soon I realized
that all these potential thoughts will not appeal to the scientific community, unless the whole thinking is reduced to the fundamentals,
which account for all the development in science, explain the paradoxes of
science and takes a giant step into the Unification Theory.
The
three basic criteria I define for the Unification Theory is that 1]
It should unify mind, matter and the consciousness. In other words, it should
bring the living system and non-living system on a single plat form 2]
It should present a picture, which exists and evolves in a cyclic manner. 3]
It should explain the individual particle and the whole system by the same law
and bring out the relationship and the oneness of these two aspects. In other
words, it should explain how matter exists and transforms in nature? How nature
exists and transforms in it self? How these two transformations are related? The
first criteria brings humankind to the center stage. This has necessitates a
soul-searching. We need to look at our self and our actions and discover
ourselves in relation to nature. This is the essence of all age-old
philosophies. This reality has led many a great scientist to search the ultimate
secret in the age-old philosophies of the east and the knowledge built on sense
experiences. Second
important criterions for Unification Theory is that it should wipe out the demon
of infinity and show a cyclic self sustaining pattern to nature. In other words
it should show how the directed evolution changes its direction, or how the
expanding universe contracts or how left turns right and vice-versa.
The
third aspect is very important because our universe is constituted of diverse
type of systems. These systems take birth and dies. In terms of energy they
simply change forms. In other words within the whole system, which some how go
through cyclic form, there exist millions of systems, which goes in cycles. All
these systems and its cycles are some how interrelated to other system and the
whole. We must imagine here a living system. Each living system is made of
millions of cells. Each cell in its true sense is independent. It has all the
information of the whole system. These cells interact in a specific manner to
sustain the whole. The whole never dies. The whole mechanism is so structured
that it survives and perpetuates through evolution. Evolution thus in simple
sense is a process working towards keeping the life going. It means that in the
sense of the whole there is nothing called death. Much of our age-old
philosophies speak this in an elaborate manner. However, this philosophical
aspect is not going to open the eyes of the present generation, which is
mesmerized by science. The need of the hour is to project these philosophical aspects
from a scientific point. This
site introduces a new simple base on which all the development in science could
be restructured. It brings up the unification of science and the age-old
philosophies of the east. To understand it one has to come out of the mind
conditioned by science. One must forget the field to which he or she belongs and
read the content of the site without any attachment to once own field. You are
free to evaluate and comment on the content in the end of it. Before
we begin let me pose you some fundamental questions. This would help you think
and prepare yourself to what you would principally come across in the site. 1]
How gravity comes into existence? This
is a very fundamental question. Newton escaped this fundamental question by
stating “I frame no Hypothesis”. All
particles are known to have instinctive tendency to attract each other. This
pull is known by the term Gravity. Gravity is centripetal force directed to
undefined center. Newton’s theory of gravity invariably means that there
should exist a center to the whole universe, which contains more than ½ of the
total matter. Which is this center? 2]
What is mass? Newton introduced it in
order to quantify force, but never explained it. For all purpose mass was
defined as the weight in the absence of gravity. In Newtonian world mass, scale
and time all were absolute or fixed; they never changed in relation to speed.
However, when science evolved into field theory, both mass, scale and time
became related to the speed. The question now is that, isn’t humankind running
at ever increasing speed, increasing the mass of the earth system? Where is it
going to end? What stands out here is that our science never bothered to develop
a sensible picture of matter, gravitational property, and how this property
changes with speed and what are its limits? 3] What is force and how it originates? Gravity was described as force of attraction. It was assumed that all matter has inherent property of attraction. The attractive property is proportional to the mass or weight of the systems. The Mechanical World-View was built on this foundation. The discovery of charge led to a discovery of another force that is repulsive. Science failed to comprehend the new force. Science has ended up in four different forces, Gravitational, Electromagnetic, Weak Nuclear and Strong Nuclear. They have failed to bring these four forces on one plat form. 4]
What is energy? Energy experienced by
everybody but no body has seen it. It is often termed as the ghost, which exist
but cannot be seen. 5]
What is charge? What is field? How is
charge field different from the gravitational field? Charges are known to be
always associated with a particle. Does charge exist free in nature? 6]
Why wave particle duality exist? 7]
What is the structure of a Fundamental Particle?
How this particle exists and evolves in nature? 8]
What is life? What is death? Why male
and female? What is mind? What is consciousness? What is evolution and where is
it directed? 9]
Why gene is a triplet code? Why DNA is double
helical? Why chromosomes are paired? Why mitotic and meiotic divisions?
And so on. These are only few fundamental questions; there are thousands
of them, which are lost in our quest to conquer matter and nature. These
fundamental questions should always be borne in mind when we try to develop a
new base and understand the oneness of nature.
An appeal to the readers:-
as a small farmer living in an interior village; it was tough thing to
keep my struggle going. You must bear with me in any shortcoming in the
presentation. I am now placing it as a
humble challenge to all scientists. In the write up, I have concentrated on only
the basal points. If time, strength and His will permits, I hope to elaborate
the fundamental thinking. I humbly seek your kind cooperation Go to - Discovering the Fundamental Particle, Origin of Gravity, Mass, force, Field Charge --- |
