oddly, a cool rain on a hot day is often quite welcome. if i were weather, i would be rain. storm to mist, it expresses the more interesting words, the ones people write about, rage, mystery, change, etc. sunshine is too happy to write about. unless its bouncing off the moon.

a friend of mine inadvertantly brought up an issue. you know how in a dictionary words have multiple definitions, not a single word i can think of has only a single definition. does the same hold true for people? are there people who lack a second definition?

according to my cousin daren, im at about the age where its not unheard of for people in my family to go crazy. this is a strange prospect. i find myself concentrating on that quite lot today. i think my definition of crazy might be a little milder than what has happened with other more illustriuos relatives of mine. insanity has never before been so tempting. so if a disappear, who do i tell, just so someone knows where i am and a missing persons report doesnt get filed against me.

that little triangle mathematically represents the change in something. i could really use a delta stuck in front of me. imagine being stuck in an elevator. you wont run out of air, but eventually you will feel like every last bit of air has passed through your lungs. im not feeling like that. i would just like to be startled, surprised, woken up. thats it! i need something to pour ice water on me, without threatening first. no warning. i need ignorance. so... now my challenge is not to notice whats coming. is that easier or harder than it sounds?

i cancelled my moms aol account, and the dirty company threatened to reactivate the account if anyone logged on to aol using any of our six screen names. pretty queer. not only that, but my long time screen name of "theguywhosaid" is taboo until late april of this year at least. so until then i have to reconcile to a crap screen name, q4996, because the time it takes to get a good screen name for aim is stupid. so now im stuck thinking my alias sucks. isnt that a drag?

01/20/2003-inspiration anomalies
these are one of the most vexing occurances known to me. one instant ideas when are flowing and make sense. then, immediately following that instant is a long dry spell. i suppose its just evening out your creative average, but its still quite annoying to suddenly have no thoughts. i wonder if any studies on the subject have been perpetrated. spacehog is a very interesting band. bomb pops are tasty. ive been living off dorm food and chicken pot pies lately, and i think its not that bad for you. pencils made of real wood are infinitely superior to to those sawdust and glue abominations. well, this rant is entirely off subject now so i will come to a close that hopefully relates to the topic. when inspiration comes to me, i tend to sit and think for a while about my ideas, and they rapidly become polluted with afterthoughts and feasibility. my late new years resolution is to write before i think, rather than waiting until i have confirmed that it makes sense.

01/20/2003-general room description
i like my room. its pretty comfortable. the only annoyance is that i must wear a long sleeved shirt at my computer because the air conditioning is directed at my left arm, and my arm gets cold. the high points include my not overly squishy bed. its very nice, blue sheets, a blue blanket thing, and a lighter blue wool blanket, with stripes of varying color, fairly earthy tones. its damn warm. on to my computer. its nearly two years old, and was prolly cutting edge a few months before that, im not too sure. its a 1.0ghz amd athlon, 100mhz bus, 384mb sdram compaq. ive upgraded to a geforce2 mx400 graphics card, though i think ill give it a geforce3 before i stop upgrading this box. its got a 30 gig 7200rpm and a 40gig 5400rpm pair of hard drives, a little bit empty at this point. not to worry, my file sharing programs stay fairly busy. ive got two guitar amplifiers, a crate half stack and a peavey practice amp. ive also got my happy peavey bass amp. my ibanez gi0 (inspector 44) is still my favorite guitar, and my jackson pointy, franciscan acoustic, and westone bass are the nameless second place competitors. ive got a straw dispenser i ganked from fort hood too.
