A SUMMARY OF THE GENEALOGY OF JOHN GROW OF IPSWICH FROM 1620 TO 2002
with special attention to the Family of
FRED AND NINA GROW

JOHN GROW is the first known Grow in the "new world". He is believed to have immigrated from England (or possibly Wales) about 1640 or thereabouts and settled in Ipswich, Massachusetts. He was born about 1636, and married Hannah Lord of Ipswich on 15 December 1669. Hannah was the daughter of Robert and Mary (Waite) Lord, also immigrants from England. John-1 and Hannah were the parents of eight children: John (1670-1671), Samuel (1671-1671), John (1673-1716), Joseph (1637-1748), Hannah (1629-?), Nathaniel (1682 -?), Thomas-2 (1684-1753 -who married Rebecca Holt), and William (1690 -?). Thomas and Rebecca had six children, among them Joseph-3 (1717-1782) who married Abigail Dana. Joseph and Abigail had thirteen children, among them John-4 (1750) who married Deborah Davidson. John and Deborah had ten children, among them Abial-5 (1791-1870). Abial married Sally Seely, and they had six children, among them William Seely-6 (1819-1905). William Seely married four times. l)Mary Case - and they had two children: Samuel Benson and Enos Fulton. 2)Martha Thomas, with whom he had five children: William Hubbel, George Washington, Francis Wayland, John Thomas, and Albert. 3) Mary Thomas, no children; and 4) Louise Johnson, with whom he had five children: Charles Arthur, Rose Eliza, Fred Carroll-7, Harry Allen, and Charlotte.

Fred married Nina Maud Tebbets in 1900, and their family included:
