Players control immortal warriors and sorcerers in a struggle for control over the empire. These immortals fight and gain power using the souls of their fallen enemies and can even tap into the soul energy of their own troops. When killed, all the soul energy an immortal has accumulated bursts from their body either as a massive explosion or a massive boost to allies. In battle, immortals are very powerful, and become much more powerful when empowered by souls. While the souls are very potent when in the hands of an immortal, they slowly leak out of the immortal's body when a fight ends. Once the souls have left the immortal's body, they return to their rightful place, either in their bodies or in the afterlife. Once a soul has been tapped, but not taken by an immortal, his or her strength flows back through the bond and both are strengthened by it.
