Hearing things about the newly designed reserve notes (U.S. dollars) like they have an RFID (radio frequency identification) in them made me curious. I did everything from disecting the bills under a microscope to close examinations with solvents and ultraviolet light. You see, that "Security Strip" that is in the bill glows a different color for each denomination under a black light. My most interesting finding was that exactly where the rumored RFID was supposed to be located I would find a speck glowing whatever color that bills security strip was. I examined many of these under a microscope to then realize...I don't have any idea what an RFID looks like. Was this just organic cotten fibers I was looking at? I didn't know what that would look like under a microscope either. Hours of internet searching supplied no actual real RFID pictures. So until I get photos of a real RFID those theories will all be on hold. I was puzzled by the layered, almost woven paper that comprised the reserve notes and wondered about the purpose. Of cousre that is how the strip is inside the paper. The watermark being made by screen printing the blank paper with paper pulp (paste) through a pattern produces the pictures you only see when held up to light, or backlit. Playing around taking pictures of that "security feature" I came across other pictures...of other things...a wild imagination I suppose. Months passed until too many people I had shown them to, after looking a few minutes, also saw them. Well, decide for yourself. For me it's an uncomfortable thought to carry this trash around. After all it's the creation of the Federal Reserve that has created the unpayable national debt. -Murdoch |
