Over 50 years ago, C.S. Lewis created a land of wonder and enchantment called Narnia, and since then over 60 million readers have discovered the wondrous world that exists beyond the back of the wardrobe.

C.S. Lewis once wrote that the idea for the Narnia books came to him from images: "a faun carrying an umbrella, a queen in a sledge, a magnificent lion." From these mental pictures he created the Land of Narnia, a land populated with a rich diversity of beings, some very like their counterparts in our world, some derived from his knowledge and love of myth and fairy tale, and some, like Puddleglum, purely his own invention. ตำนานแห่งนาร์เนีย: The Chronicles of Narnia) เป็นชุดนิยายแฟนตาซีจำนวน 7 เล่ม เขียนโดย ซี.เอส.ลูอิส ระหว่าง ค.ศ. 1949-1954 ได้รับการยกย่องว่าเป็นวรรณกรรมเยาวชนคลาสสิคเรื่องหนึ่ง และเป็นผลงานที่มีชื่อเสียงมากที่สุดของผู้เขียน ปัจจุบันถูกจำหน่ายไปมากกว่า 100 ล้านเล่มใน 41 ภาษา ได้รับการดัดแปลงเป็นละครโทรทัศน์, ละครวิทยุ, ภาพยนตร์ และละครเวทีหลายครั้ง

ตำนานนาร์เนียเป็นเรื่องของเด็กที่เข้าไปผจญภัยในดินแดนแห่งอัสลานซึ่งสัตว์สามารถพูดภาษามนุษย์ เต็มไปด้วยเวทมนตร์และสัตว์ประหลาดในเทพนิยาย ตัวเอกในหนังสือแต่ละเล่มจะแตกต่างกันไป แต่ทุกเล่มจะจับความตามช่วงเวลาในอาณาจักร์นาร์เนีย โดยมีสิงโตอัสลานป็นตัวละครสำคัญ
