There are many herbs used in the practice of Witchcraft. Specific rituals and spells call for different herbs. Herbs are also used in the setting of altars and for decorations on sabbats.

For protection you would use Angelica, Asafoetida, Copal, Juniper, Lady's Slipper, Ash, Avens, Balm of Gilead, Basil, Bay Laurel, Betony, Cyclamen, Elder Berries, Horehound, Hyssop, Mistletoe, Mugwort, Myrrh, Frankincense, Vervain, Rosemary, and Mullein.

For love you would use Apple, Aster, Bachelor's Buttons, Mandrake, Majoram, Meadowsweet, Basil, Bergamot, Balm of Gilead, Coriander, Dragon's blood, Jasmine, Lemon Balm, Lavender, Lovage, Rose, Rosemary, Vervain, Violet, Orris Root, Patchouli, Yarrow, and Tonka Beans.

For healing you would use Anemone, Apple, Bay Laurel, Cinnamon, Cinquefoil, Cucumber, Eucalyptus, Geranium, Hops, Onion, Peppermint, Rowan, Saffron, Sage, Sandalwood, Spearmint, Walnut, and Willow.
 

Here are some of the herbs that may be used for sabbats to place on the altar, place around the home or in circles.

SAMHAIN: Chrysanthemum, wormwood, apples, pears, hazel, thistle, pomegranates, all grains, harvested fruits and nuts, the pumpkin, corn.

YULE: Holly mistletoe, ivy, cedar, bay, juniper, rosemary, pine. Place offerings of apples, ranges, nutmegs, lemons and whole cinnamon sticks on the Yule tree.

IMBOLC: Snowdrop, rowan, the first flowers of the year.

OSTARA: Daffodil, woodruff, violet, gorse, olive, peonny, iris, narcissus, all spring flowers.

BELTANE: Hawthorn, honeysuckle, St. John's wort, woodruff, all flowers.

MIDSUMMER: Mugwors, vervain, camomile, rose, lily, oak, lavender, ivy, yarrow, fern, elder, wild thyme, daisy, carnation.

LUGHNASADH: All grains, grapes, heather, blackberries, sloe, crab apples, pears.

MABON: Hazel, corn, aspen, acorns, oak sprigs, autumn leaves, wheat stalks, cypress cones, pine cones, harvest gleanings.
