Issac Busey migrated with his brother John in 1797 to Franklin Co., KY.  In 1803, he was living in Shelby Co., KY where he was a weaver, innkeeper and farmer.  On 1Sep 1831, he sold his land holdings in Kentucky to his brother, Jacob, and moved to Vermillion Co., Ill. where he had entered land earlier, on Feb 1830.  With him came all his family and sons-in-law, James Thompson Roe and Mason Martin; they settled on land now within the city limits of Urbana, Illinois, Champaign County.  He became a large land owner and was active in county government during his life.
