| "Hey, I made this coffee and forgot about it. Damn." "Why don't you put it in a cup? You got a travel mug?" "No... I threw those away..." "Just get a mug and pour it in there. It will be surreal while riding the bus." The Blue Cup began simply. Just a whim. An idea that just happened and then was expanded upon between the two of us. Back and forth the idea grew. Two minds in creative colaboration. Everything one said the other would expand upon. In a span of one hour this all happned, on the bus to downtown. It turned out to be a project that lasted a few days and then soon, it would become a big multimedia project: with video footage, photography, and digital media. It's an experiment on humans. It shows the contrast of one brightly colored object on a drab dreary day in Cleveland, Ohio. It brings people together. A common link between strangers that aren't really that different from each other at all. People who all thought the only thing they had in common was this city, but they have so much more. White collar/Blue collar, homeless, working, at home, walking down the street. We are one. The Blue Cup symbolizes all of this... and more. |
