Charles F was born in Barmen as Friedrich Carl on January 24, 1854. He was the second child of Caspar Biele and Wilhelmine Baacke. He immigrated to the United States with his mother and siblings arriving in New York City from Bremen on the S.S. America on Dec 19, 1865. (See Ship Logs Page)

The family settled in the lower East side of Manhattan in New York City.

Charles F married Fredericke Wilhelmine Prediger on July 11, 1876 in New York City. Charles F is described in family records as tall with blonde hair and blue eyes.

Charles F joined his father's showcase business and took over after Caspar's death in 1875. Working with his brother and later his sons, he grew the business into a premier showcase, metal working, and mouldings company. The business later known as Charles F. Biele and Sons manufactured custom showcases for the top museums and private collections of their day.

Charles F was also an inventor and had four patents issued in his name for showcase related inventions. (see Patents Page)

After Fredericke's death in 1911, Charles F married a second time to Louise Blatter at the Hotel Savoy (torn down in 1966 to make way for the new GM building) in Manhattan in a joint ceremony with his daughter Fredericke on November 25, 1914. Pastor Alfred Moldenke of Saint Peter's Lutheran Church performed the marriage.

Charles F died on January 30, 1930 in New York City six days after his seventy-sixth birthday. Charles F was buried at the Biele plot in Lutheran Cemetery.
