I put this bio together from published articles in magazines and private research. This is NOT an authorized bio.

GEORGE COSTACOS was born in the heart of Athens.
This baby made instant headline news by... diving into the port of Piraeus!
He's been in the spotlight ever since.

George "learned how to swim by trying to fly over the waves."

With a restless childhood full of creativity, attempts to fly, and no TV in the house...
This very shy boy was a natural performer, always front and center on stage.
So bright was his starlight, they nicknamed him "Theatrino."

"At age 3, he pointed to an organ-grinder and called out" to his mother, "THAT's what I'm going to be!"
Fortunately, "his father taught him the alphabet and numbers by age 4."
For this, they flew him straight into 1st Grade by age 5.
His ABC teacher reprimanded him at the Headmaster's for reading "Mickey Mouse" under his desk in class.

His first "job" was at his uncle's island, open-air, real-life "Cinema Paradiso."
As little George flew his bike in, his aunt's daily quote was "here comes our manager."
It was there he fell in love with American movies and musicals, and with Greece's most beloved star, Aliki.

He wrote and published his first "little newspaper" at the ripe age of...9.
It was a delight to everyone and a horror to his parents and the mailman:
The average mail little Georgie received from all over the world was a bag a day.

He kept performing, making little theaters, writing little books and songs, painting china, paper, glass and stones,
making clothes, pottery, colognes, candles and art crafts, flying hats, spaceships and strange inventions!
Luckily he never managed to fly from the balcony, the roof, the trees, the swing, or the speeding bike.
He was always fascinated by the stars in the sky, the Acropolis, and the salty, clear blue sea of Aigina.
He loved trains, mechanical gadgets and toys, plants, his first encyclopedia and the ducks at the National Garden.
He loved the lights of Athens and light from the Acropolis.
Above all, George loved and loves his family for giving him life.
A bit on the eccentric side, this child's pets were 3 white roosters, which he carried in a bag!

A top student, George always graduated with Excellence in Greek and English school.
All his school reports said "Brilliant. But lazy." How lazy?

As a champion gymnast in his teens George won gold medals, honors, and national publicity.
He also won two scholarships for the National Academy of Physical Education.
A competition injury prevented him from completing the entry process in Athens, so...
With the help of the Fulbright Foundation he flew to New York for University.

Modern dance choreographer Susan Matthews spotted George at an audition.
He was only there to provide encouragement for a friend.
Matthews dragged George on stage and the rest is flying history.
Appropriately, the first song George ever sang to a New York audience was "New York, New York."
Today, he enjoys the increasing success that comes from years of hard, eclectic work.
In addition, Georgie became a registered trademark with select readers all over the world.

Even though his "Flying Nun" hat never did the trick... George's imagination helped him and others fly.
One of George Costacos' many famous quotes is that his favorite art to master is "the Art of Life itself."
