Biography

To what you and I know today as Savage Garden formed in 1993 when Daniel put an add in a Brisbane music magazine, "Time Off", looking for a lead vocalist for the what was cover band "Red Edge".  Darren responded to this add and attended an audition where he met Daniel and the pair immediately clicked.  After a while both Daniel and Darren felt it was time to move on as the pair of them were becoming restless performing other peoples music.  Not knowing what was in store for them they began to write music together.................. And the rest they say is history!

" We were a covers band, then it ended up being two guys writing songs and having a great management team. It was a lot of stuff behind the scenes for the last two years leading up to this. We just decided to make a record, to be honest. We sat in a room for about eight months, wrote songs, sent a demo and basically got signed after that first demo."                         - Darren
