London is the place where it all started, at the New London Theater. The great thing about the london production is that you can see how CATS has progressed through the years. Going all the way from simple unitards and simple hair arangements for ears, to the wonderfully detailed, stylized costumes of today. Even the music has changed over the years. Just listen to Mungojerrie and Rumpelteazer to see what I mean! It used to be quite jazzy, rather than the energetic theme for our two favorite troublemakers! The London show is also seen as something of a Jellicle Mecca for some fans, and is the longest run of the show that has ever been put on, starting in 1981 and continuing on to the present day. For some, this is the show by which all other CATS shows are measured. Oh, by the way, these pictures are not in chronological order!
