His 1980 Jeep Wagoneer must have known it was on its way out when it up and died the day after John McCook (Eric, THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL) ordered his family’s new car: a Chevy Suburban. “You’re talking to a family man,” the actor says in defense of his new, large truck. “We drive to the mountains all the time with my kids and my kids’ friends.” But the old Jeep isn’t out of the picture. McCook had some repairs done, and it now resides at the family’s Northern California cabin. “I’m going to keep it in the mountains because it’s four-wheel drive and good in the snow. And when Jake (13) is ready to drive, he’ll drive that. If the kids are into going to the beach and surfing, then something big is good.” In an era of sports cars and convertibles, will Jake really want to drive the Jeep? “Actually,” the actor points out, “I drive by the hip private school, and half the cars are 4-wheel drives, Jeeps and Ford Rangers.”
