Spider-Man Classics: Venom (2000)
review by justin anderson
the desription:
the articulation: The figure is articulated at the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists,
waist, hips, knees, and ankles.
14 joints in total.
the design: I honestly don't care for the details. Someone decided to go
"half-costume", which leaves patches of
skin revealed, an entire leg sticking out, and Eddie Brock' sface visible under
Venom's tongue, with small
Carnage tendrils popping up and an oversized right hand. The whole thing looks
like a mutant Daffy Duck.
There are only a few action poses you can get out of it, thanks to the awkward
detailing. And all involve the
web line accessory which pegs into the left hand. Unfortunately, this piece was
made of soft plastic, and
bends under its own weight.
The figure comes with a base, detailed as a Vault guardsman smashed through a
wall. As with the other bases, it
includes a small waist clip which pegs to the base, and holes on the underside
to mount it to a wall. This base
includes 3 such screw slots. Though with the weight of the figure, wall mounting
may be a trial-and-error
deal.
the review:
They had a chance at a great Venom, and wrecked it with a horrible choice of
costuming. Trust me, the toy
looks worse than pictures would indicate, especially when you see the face. **
of *****.
