Molten Man
First appearance: Amazing Spider-Man #28

Mark Raxton was once the assistant of Spencer Smythe, the late inventor of the Spider-Slayers, until he stole a metallic alloy taken from a meteorite from the lab and accidently spilt it on himself. The alloy turned Raxton's skin into a golden metal alloy, with the ability to generate heat and made him impervious to damage. Raxton turned to crime, though working continuously to reverse his condition, and called himself the Molten Man. After a few early encounters with Spider-Man, Raxton laided low for a time, until reemerging as his relation to Peter Parker's high school classmate Liz Allen, his step-sister, was revealed. Raxton later tried kidnapping Liz, but was resumed dead after that until his return much later, during which he lost the use of his molten powers, though his golden skin remained.

The loss of his powers and the acceptance of his step-sister led Raxton to reform, and he took up a position in Osborn Industries, owned at that time by Liz's husband Harry Osborn. Fully reformed and living a clean life, Raxton went on to aid his one-time foe, Spider-Man in battle against the crime boss Tombstone and unfortunatly later against his brother in law Harry Osborn, the Green Goblin. Raxton went back into action as the Molten Man when criminal ongoings were detected in the Osborn Industries subsidiery Multivex, and while in battle against the Ben Reilly Spider-Man, he regained his molten abilities.

Raxton continued his reformed lifestyle, even serving on the Osborn Ind. board of directors, until Norman Osborn's return as the head of Osborn Industries wherein Osborn brainwashed Raxton into tracking down Robbie Robertson and Alison Mongrain in a debacle resulting in Raxton's apparent demise, shredded to death in a boat's rotor blades.

Powers and Abilities: Mark Raxton, the Molten Man, has golden alloy skin and the ability to generate heat and molten energy from his body.
