LONG RANT: (With Strong Language) Let me start by saying that I never attended one class at Alabama. I Love Bear, God, Country, Family. Thats it. So many people post on here talking about CMS needs to do this, or do that. I have even read and heard the past couple of days since SLY got hired about how CMS better do a much better job in year two. Year two? IMHO what the hell are you people talking about! I by no means am a genious. However I can add 1 + 1 and by math SLY and CMS will both have their FIRST spring practice in 2004. They will Both have their FIRST recruiting class. Their first full year on the job. When Mal messed up and hired Price and had to Fire him 4 months later we were left with a staff that was depleted by 4. Price, his 2 boys, & Dunn. When CMS stepped into this mess he had to find what he could as coaches go, just to get through the season. Hell the best Off Cord. he could find that would even think about coming in was a washed up coach selling computers for christ sake! It really pisses me off when I hear people starting up their BS already. CMS and his CURRENT staff will be recruiting UNTIL the "dead period" in December. Does anybody on here with half a brain believe during the Christmas holiday and "dead period" in recruiting that CMS wont ask PAPA DON while eating turkey and watching the Bowl games and NFL Playoffs for some advice? For christ sake My dad is 58 and he still ask his father for advice! PAPA DON wants his son to be a success more than anything. All fathers do. I guarantee that he has more than one favor to call in if need be. People can you not understand that CMS coaches and runs business like his dad, like he did at Q-back! Example: this year This team had every reason to lay down. Fran the back stabing liar had walked out on them without even saying goodbye. Then just as they were getting used to their new coach he went and did the Dumb ASS move of a lifetime and got fired. DO YOU PEOPLE NOT REMEMBER SHAUD WILLIAMS IN TEARS PLEADING Dr. Witt to keep coach Price. He wasn't alone, Smiley, Britt, and Brodie were up there begging too. Time and Time again their hopes would get built up only to get Stolen away at the last second. They were told they had no chance playing Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Arkansas. Did you fairies not watch any of the games this year? Every player left everything they had out on the field every play of every game. NO MATTER how much thay were getting beat by, they never quit. Even after a loss to "cow pattie U" somehow THIS coaching staff got them up for a meaningless game at Hawaii. Game 13 you are 4 and 8 and loosing, the refs have just given you THREE 15 yard penalties that they pulled out of their ass what did this team do? THE D held Just about tore the Q-Back's head off in a sack, Then not only Blocked the field goal but returned it for a touchdown! Not making excuses but two of the touchdowns Hawaii scored were WAC official Gimmies. Still, Trailing by 8 the Onside Kick was perfect, WARD got his hands on the ball but. Inches, thats what this team faced week in and week out. I AM DAMN PROUD OF THIS TEAM AND THIS PATCHED UP COACHING STAFF. CMS somehow was able to get his kids to play their hearts out. That is what you want your head coach to get out of his players. Bear could do it, Stallings could do it, Parcells does it, PAPA DON did it and guess what COACH MIKE SHULA CAN DO IT TOO. If you can get 11 players playing as one heartbeat as a team putting everything they have into every play you will win. It might take CMS 2 or 3 years (gasp) oh my GOD to get this cluster turned around but he will. He proved it this year. He will make staff changes when HE FEELS LIKE ITS BEST. Not for any fan or booster and certainly not to satisfy Skarbinsky, Finebaum, or Flamers on this Board. Alabama has never had a Heisman Trophy Winner. I used to get mad about that. But I tell you what, you give me 11 guys willing to play their hearts out and put it all out there, I'll take that over BO, Cady, or johnny come lately any day. Britt in the Tennesse game a perfect example. I love alabama and I would die for um, just like I would for my country, or my Family. I aint rich, I make about 20K but if I can somehow come up with enough money for Christmas, bills, and property taxes I will send what I can down to BAMA for the new construction. I hope I live a long life, but whenever I die put me in my Alabama Casket, With My pictures of Bear Bryant, Gene Stallings, Quarterback Mike Shula, My daniel Moore Prints, One picture of my family and Jesus.
