THE EYE KNOWS
Grant's Eye on the World
Been another crazy week. There are a ton of articles to comment on. I could do an encyclopedia of them as a matter of fact. So for the sake of brevity I'll keep the intro short.
Yes We Have No
Bananas
Our one-hit wonder - Harry Belafonte - speaks out. Well, perhaps he put his foot in it anyway.
DRUDGE REPORT; OCT 17, 2002;
BELAFONTE SLAMS COLIN POWELL AS
RACE SELLOUT
Remember this guy? I guess not, he's out of the 50s. Even I have a hard time remembering this one.
"There's an old saying," Belafonte
began. "In the days of slavery, there
were those slaves who lived on the
plantation and were those slaves that
lived in the house. You got the privilege
of living in the house if you served the
master... exactly the way the master
intended to have you serve him.
Anyone hear Rochester calling Mr. Benny?
"Colin Powell's committed to come
into
the house of the master. When Colin
Powell dares to suggest something
other than what the master wants to
hear, he will be turned back out to
pasture."
You gotta love these people. Who Eye, who? Liberals, that's who. Belafonte is black but foremost, he's a liberal. If Powell were a liberal, or even a Democrat, he'd get a pass. But Powell, just like Clarence Thomas and Condoleeza Rice and any other conservative black, is selling out his brothers.
For close to twenty minutes,
Belafonte
ripped the entire Bush administration,
including an attack on Attorney General
John Ashcroft. "There's something
wrong with men who think the way
Ashcroft does and who manipulate the
justice system the way he does."
And Janet Reno gets a pass.
Belafonte also sang the praises of the
United Nations as a pillar of global
democracy, and decried President Bush
for failing to attend the UN World
Conference Against Racism in Durban,
South Africa earlier this year.
Our peace loving democracy loving United Nations where 75% of the member countries are socialist/communist/dictatorship/totalitarian states. Guess where ol' Harry's allegiance lies.
"There were tens of thousands of
peoples and leaders from all over the
world gathered to discuss the issue of
race. It was an honorable arena... But by
not showing up, by sticking it to the
government of Nelson Mandela... It was
a dark page on our foreign policy."
You left me speechless. Guess I have only one thing to say - "Bananas anyone? Me work so hard, an' me wan'. . . go home".
Is it safe to come out Now?
Let me refresh your mind on something. Remember when I posited my theory a couple weeks ago on how most of the Democrats were sticking their heads out and getting them chopped off and handed to them. Even the mainstream press was bashing them. Lookee heah.
War protesters hole up inside Sen.
Clinton's New York office; By ERIN
McCLAM Associated Press Writer;
October 10, 2002
For those of you who did not read my commentary, I claimed that all the running around the Democrats are doing and knifing each other that it was just as important as to who was not talking. The Democrats who were getting beat up when they talked were readying themselves for a fall. Take a look here at the very last commentary on this link. (Commentary Link)
Five demonstrators staged a
peaceful
protest for nine hours Thursday inside
the midtown Manhattan office of Sen.
Hillary Rodham Clinton, demanding she
vote against authorizing a U.S. strike
against Iraq.
Ooooo. An entire handful. You have to wonder whether this group had any clout. Well if they were Hasidic Jews or related to Marc Rich they surely would.
Clinton, D-N.Y., indicated on the U.S.
Senate floor that she planned to support
the resolution granting President Bush
the powers to use military force against
Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein. A vote
was expected early Friday.
You see what's going on? Do you see why she was silent during the blood baths going with Algore, Daschole, and Gebhardt (Barbara Streisand spelling book)?
"She's not listening to her
constituents,"
Hirschmann said. "She has to vote with
the will of the people."
Several dozen more protesters gathered on the street outside Clinton's office, chanting, "This is what democracy looks like."
Oh my gosh Broom Hillary, watch out! It's a trap. There's a dozen of them. They're going to be your downfall. So what is it going to be? You going to go with your constituents in the hallway? You going to join your draft dodging ex-impeached hubbie? What are you going to do? You've been awfully quiet. What are you going to do?
During the Senate's floor debate,
Clinton said backing the resolution was
"the hardest decision I've ever had to
make, but I cast it with conviction. I want
this president, or any future president,
to be in the strongest possible position
to lead our country, at the United
Nations or at war."
What bravado! What courage! What do we owe your flag waving bleeding heart patriotism to? A new found love of America?
Poll Sees Americans Taking Bush
Line
on Iraq; Oct 10, 2002; By Randall
Mikkelsen ; Reuters
(rolling eyes) Just as I thought. Now you know why she's been silent. She knew the support was there for W and her grooming liar of a husband was positioning her for the photo ops. Now WHO ends up looking bad? WHO ends up looking good (I'm talking politically not physically)? Daschole, Gephardt, Algore - you boys have just been suckered. Bananas anyone?
Hey, Torcelli wasn't all that bad. . .
All of you out there know that the
crook
senator for New Jersey dropped out of
the race (at the behest of Billie-bob and
McAuliffe). The man was taking bribes
and accepting gifts and passing on
favors to foreigners. Well, as low as he
was, we've got something even
lower.
G.O.P. Inquiry Lists Gifts to Clintons
in
White House; By RAYMOND
HERNANDEZ; Oct 9, 2002; New York
Times
Did that surprise you? I didn't think so. We knew Billie-bob and company was lower than whale feces. And that's at the bottom of the ocean.
Denise Rich, Malcolm S. Forbes,
Nelson
Mandela and other friends and
supporters of the Clintons showered the
couple with roughly $1 million in
previously unreported gifts during the
Clinton presidency, according to
documents released by Republican
Congressional investigators.
Torcelli never got into that league. And this is just the stuff that was recorded, too.
The gifts vary from tens of thousands
of
dollars in jewelry, rugs and furnishings
to a $90,000 framed handwritten letter
by President Harry S. Truman, a $10,000
Mickey Mantle trading card from 1952
and nine rare books, according to the
documents.
I see the Mickey Mantle baseball card,
but it didn't mention the vintage
'Playboy' magazines.
The gifts were not disclosed by the
Clintons because the couple turned
them over to Bill Clinton's presidential
library, the investigators said. Under
federal law, gifts that the first family do
not keep for themselves are exempt
from the public disclosure requirement
on presidential gifts, the investigators
said.
Yeah right. They claim a loophole.
"Yeah Eye, there you go again, you're
just a Clinton basher." A Clinton basher
I admit to, but the mainstream news
gives the slimebag a pass on
everything. But you know even their
claim of not keeping the gifts and
turning them over to the library is in
keeping with the Arkansas trailer trash
mentality of theirs.
There was a $2,000 bronze statue of
an
angel from Denise Rich; a $9,000
hand-woven Navajo chief's blanket
(circa 1885) from Larry Rockefeller; and
an oil painted in a gilt frame, a cheese
plate, a porcelain teapot, a gold cross
and other items totaling $6,000 from
Nelson Mandela.
Then there were other gifts that
investigators say the Clintons may have
used before donating them to the
presidential library: nine custom-made
tuxedo and dress shirts worth $900 from
Walter and Selma Kaye; and four purses
worth $8,680 from the handbag designer
Judith Leiber.
Let's see now, just how many cheese plates, teapots, custom-made tuxedos and dress shirts, and handbags do you find in other libraries? You really wonder why the real important items were not mentioned. Those no-name soggy cigars don't appear to be listed.
Monkeys aren't that Dumb
In my opinion the animal rights people have it all over the tree huggers. Mainly because animals have a higher degree of intelligence that the activists. Case in point. . .
Tree-sitter dead after fall from tree in
Corralitos; Sacramento Bee/AP; Oct. 10,
2002
You will undoubtedly hear cries for workman's compensation one day from these whackos.
A man with the environmental activist
group Earth First! has died after a fall of
more than 50 feet from a redwood tree,
raising concerns about the dangers of
tree sits, often used to stop logging
operations.
Perhaps these idiots will try suing the department of fish and wildlife service for not posting tree-sitting warnings. However that wouldn't work either, cigarette-packaging warnings were no legal defense.
The man, whose identity hasn't been
released but went by the forest name
"Naya," had only been in the tree for
about 12 hours on Tuesday evening
when he fell, according to Dennis Davie
of the Santa Cruz contingent of Earth
First!
If I were that dumb I wouldn't divulge my name either. But take a look at this guy, he only made it 12 hours. Guess you can't find reliable tree sitters these days.
"Santa Cruz Earth First! is deeply
saddened by this tragic event, we never
like to lose an activist," said Davie. "This
was a young man in his first tree-sit."
You have to wonder if these whackos at Earth First aren't responsible. Why, he was on his first tree-sit. Probably wasn't adequately trained.
On Tuesday night, for an unknown
reason, he fell out of the tree and was
taken by helicopter to Santa Clara
Valley Medical Center, where he was
soon pronounced dead. The county
coroner's office had not determined the
cause of death or the man's identity
Thursday.
Hey, I'm no doctor or anything. I'm not even one of those cosmically brilliant enviro whackos. However to save the bankrupt state of California money in their cause of death investigation, I'd put it down as death by a 'fall'. I realize it's a wild guess and all, but the coroner's office won't accept the cause of death due to 'stupidity'.
Better Plan to Go to the Polls
I've been saying over the past 2 years that the democrats have been using dirty tricks at the polls. It was evident in the Florida election but it was even admitted by Gore's campaign manager. She said "I can get you 5 points in the street." They already knew how to make up 5 percentage points, but the polls showed W with a 10 point lead on the eve of the election. That means they now are capable of coming up with more than 5 points.
So Eye, where's your headline story?
Well, I had one but guess what. It was pulled. The Rapid City Journal had an article entitled "Massive Voter Fraud Investigation Underway in State". The article disappeared after a few hours. It's gone. It was pulled from the site. The question is 'why?'. Within 24 hours after the release of an important story like this, it was pulled. The article went on to say that there was fraud on a large scale. I copied this from the Rush Limbaugh site who had featured this in his program as well.
"A large-scale federal and state
investigation into voter registration
fraud in six South Dakota counties is
under way, state Attorney General Mark
Barnett said Thursday. The
two-week-old investigation, now being
led by the FBI, has uncovered the likely
registration of dead people, people not
old enough to vote and people who
appear not to exist, Barnett said.
'The feds jumped on it immediately. The
FBI has conducted a remarkable
number of interviews, and they're
moving very rapidly. I've been very
impressed with the speed and thorough
nature of their investigation,' said
Barnett, who has made the matter a top
priority for the state Division of Criminal
Investigation. 'We get reports on what
they're finding out. They're reporting
directly to the U.S. attorney, who I'm in
conversation with on a daily basis.'"
I guess dead people voting is now not limited to Illinois. This is serious stuff folks. The places where fraud will be the biggest is in the places where Democrat senators are in danger of losing their seat - New Jersey, Missouri, South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa.
The South Dakota Democratic Party
has
launched a massive voter registration
drive on South Dakota's nine Indian
reservations in preparation for the
November 5th election. The story goes
on to quote Democratic Party
spokeswoman Sarah Feinberg, who said
party officials became aware of the
situation after visiting with the Dewey
County auditor about problematic
absentee ballots. "The party itself is not
implicated in any wrongdoing."
Just to remind you where the problems are. See which party has launched the drive? When the 2000 voter turnout in heavy populated democratic precincts in Pennsylvania was 100% and in certain democratic counties in Texas the turnout was 125%, don't you think this election is just as important? As a matter of fact it's just as important as the presidential election because control of the senate is at stake. This is no joke. Get out and vote and get your family, relatives and friends to vote.
