I remember one day, a few years ago the annual holiday photographs arriving back, tearing them open eager to re-live the experiences and being disappointed. Surely the sky was a lot bluer than that and I'm not sure that couple we met in the bar had red glowing eyes. I'm sure that everybody has been in this situation be it with holiday photographs or pictures of the children, then wondered why my pictures were never as good as those in the magazines.
My answer to this was to enrol on the City and Guilds Photography Course to try and become a better photographer. As time passed I realised that the problem was understanding the imaging making process and the course gave me the answer to those questions, but more than that it opened my eyes. I started to look around and see pictures in every nook and cranny of the world. In other words I was hooked.
However as the course moved to a close I needed some way to continue, and one evening over a beer or two with fellow students The Charnwood Imaging Group was
born
We try to be different in that we challenge each other to improve the quality of our work and to be open to new ideas and techniques. Also generous in sharing our knowledge with the rest of the group to help them, in turn, become better image creators.
