Aslo Starring : : Tommy Lee Jones, Melanie Griffith, Sting

Summary : : Stormy Monday takes place in the seedy waterfront of Newcastle, where a crooked Texas millionaire Cosmo(JOnes) is trying to run a nightclub owner (Sting) out of business so he can redevelop the area with laundered money. When the nightclub's janitor Brendan falls for Cosmo's tamed woman Kate (Griffiths), the business becomes personal.

Review : : I enjoyed this movie, but I would have enjoyed it more with someone other than Melanie Griffiths in the role of Kate. Kate was supposed to be downtrodden and stepped upon, but Griffiths takes it so far she is boring. She shows no emotion, and you don't sense that it is because she has no where else to turn, it simply seems like she can't act. It makes the love story which would have been very sweet into a painful act to see. Why Brendan goes to the lengths he does is unbelievable when you see the woman he is doing it for. The back of the DVD case said she "oozes sensuality" but it must have oozed into the cracks in the sidewalks of Newcastle, because it definately isn't in the film.
