Summary : : Star-crossed lovers, feuding family, royal plots, noble destinies, and salt-of-the-earth heroes. John Ridd is a man sworn to vengeance against the brutal and power-hungry Doones, who killed his father. But when he falls in love with the beautiful Lorna, only to discover she is a Doone, he finds himself facing the ruthless Carver who is determined to claim Lorna for his own. Now old hatreds and new rivalries erupt into a violent fight between the two families - and the two men. And only one can win.

Review : : I hope none of you are fans of Clive Owen because I really didn't enjoy him in this. I haven't seen any other version of Lorna Doone, but one can only hope their John Ridd's are more charismatic. My favorite of the 'good guys' (a.k.a. the non-Doones), was Miles Anderson as Tom Faggus. His and Annie's romance, though really never shown, was much more believable than John and Lorna's. But Sean, of course, did what he does so well, and was one mean son-of-a-b*&ch. The ending seemed kind of forced, and I really don't understand why Carver didn't grab John's hand, if only to pull him under. (Maybe I should read the book...) And it being a made-for-TV movie means those annoying fade outs for commercials, which, when you pull the commericals makes for a jerky scene change.
