Birth
Ornaran babies are delived in the same method as Terrans. When a baby is born, a wooden birth chime is crafted by the village chimesmith. This chime is attached to the village temple on the Day of Chimes festival. On all other birthdays, a chime is given to the child usually by their parents. These subsequent birthday chimes are hung in the house on the Day of Chimes.  Females are given the prefix of "E", which means 'an unmarried maiden'.
Marriage
There are two stages in marriage. The first is the preliminary marriage which lasts for 14 months, an Ornaran year. At the completion of the prelimianary period, couples decide to seperate or formally marry. Once formally married, divorce is illegal under Ornaran law. All Ornarans are married on the same day. The preliminary marriage are registered in the morning and the formal marriages in the early afternoon. Prior to the marriage, the couple's will invite the Gods by visiting a temple or hanging a poster of the invitation at their house/business.

Women are given the new title of "A" when formally married. This title virtually means 'married woman'.

The marriage ceremony is brief. There are no vows exchanged. The couple wear identical gowns which are black eand slashed with a white ligtening bolt. The material is made of cotton or Nari silk. The couple drink a thin honeyed liquid from a ceremonial goblet and also form one ball of energy between the couples hands. Afterwhich, the ball is emitted into the statue of the Storm God. After the completion of the wedding, feasts of fine delicacies are shared in the village squares. No alcohol is allowed to be consumed on this day. A magistrate certifies the couple's marriage under Ornaran law.
Funeral
Ornarans cremate their dead, and return their ashes to the earth. No ceremonies are held. Death is seen as a blessed event as the deceased will walk with the Gods in the afterlife, see the Religion page for more information.

The birth chime of the deceased is retired from the village temple on the Day of Chimes.
